The first step in your journey of building your 3d printer is to assemble the frame. The Workhorse 3D Printer frame is made of 20x20 aluminum extrusion with t-nut slots manufactured by Misumi. It's a little pricey but worth the investment. We originally started off by machining our own frame but the Misumi profile is a better solution because of its modular design. If you ever need to modify or add a component you have many options of how your idea can be adopted into the current system. In addition, Misumi also offers many products that can be used with their extusion such as linear rails and gussets.
